Tips for Students to Increase Concentration in Studies
Running Helps in Remembering
If you have problem in retaining the information you have studied, you should seriously think of going for running once everyday. You should run for at least half an hour, more if you like. According to a new study published in Cognitive Systems Research, running is the answer to many memory loss and concentration issues in children. Whatever you do after running will have much higher productivity activity as compared to other times.
According to the researchers from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, students should do moderate exercises, like running, than activities like playing computer games. Running will make them remember what they learned.
Less Time on Digital Devices, More Concentration in Studies
Children, who on an average spend 2-4 hours daily on digital devices outside schoolwork, have 23 per cent lower chances finishing their homework, compared to children who spend less than 2 hours on the same. According to a latest research by the American Academy of Pediatrics, for every additional two hours on the internet connected devices, there is a significant decrease in the chances of either always or usually completing homework.
Learning from Model Experiments
Models are a great way of learning. When students learn from a model experiment, it is found that understanding of the concepts is far quick. If the model looks more like original the same learning is even faster.
Healthy Diet has Direct Impact on Reading Skills
Age old theory of associating a healthy diet with healthy mind has been proved by scientists as well. According to a study published in the European Journal of Nutrition, the quality of the diet of children was analysed using food diaries. At the same time, their academic progress was analysed using standardised tests. The results indicate that children with healthier diets improved more in their reading skills than children with poorer diet quality.
How Much Time should You Spend on Video Games
A new study has found that playing video games for a limited time each week may be beneficial to children, but too much video gaming can be detrimental. This finding was recently published in the Annals of Neurology. One hour of video gaming per week is good. But benefits were observed to decrease after more than two hours each week.
