CBSE 2017 Class 12 Biology: Question Paper Analysis
CBSE 2017 Class 12 Biology paper was lengthy. The questions were very much NCERT textbook type, but still many students faced issues in completing the paper. The paper tested the general approach of a student on basic biology topics. Students were even confused on marking scheme as well.
Key to score high marks in Biology paper was thorough preparation from NCERT textbooks and solving previous year question papers. A number of questions were repeated from previous year question papers. Some of the questions were asked even from supplementary study material like thalasssemia and polygenic inheritance.
Most of the students were confused by the value-based question. It was a four marks question.

“It is commonly observed that parents feel embarrassed to discuss freely with their adolescent children about sexuality and reproduction. The result of this parental inhibition is that the children go astray sometimes.
(a) Explain the reasons that you feel are behind such embarrassment amongst some parents to freely discuss such issues with their growing children.
(b) By taking one example of a local plant and animal, how would you help these parents to overcome such inhibitions about reproduction and sexuality?”
