To register in the college, one has to appear for the NEET entrance exam. Apart from top 10 medical colleges, there are many government medical colleges. Students generally prefer government colleges over private colleges.

Prestigious institutions like JIPMER, AIIMS and PGI conduct their own entrance exam for MBBS. NEET will be conducted by the Dental Council of India which is held for medical and dental courses.
